This committee is focused upon learning why members join our society, providing tailored help, and helping the member set appropriate genealogical goals. We are taking a more hands on, small group approach to helping the member achieve their goals. Ultimately, we will assess if the member’s goals were accomplished.

Directory Committee

The Directory Committee is responsible for entering the towns and surnames associated with each members’ research into an online database. This includes locating the towns and entering the Yiddish current name of each town, and helping with updating information from members about their research.

Committee is responsible for creating a consistent look, high-level appearance and style for all JGSPBCI members’ meeting announcements and other internal print matter.

Newsletter Committee, Scattered Seeds

The Committee is responsible for the creation and publication of “Scattered Seeds”, the quarterly publication of the JGSPBCI. “Scattered Seeds” contains information about the JGSPBCI, items of general Jewish genealogical interest, and articles on genealogical topics submitted by JGSPBCI members. It is distributed to dues-paying members of JGSPBCI, and to other member associations of the International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies (IAJGS).
Policy and Procedure Committee

Committee is responsible for reviewing and developing policies and procedures. These articles are taken to the full board for final action.
Program Committee (includes annual luncheon)

Committee is responsible for selecting the program speakers for General Meetings which occur September through May. It meets in January to select the speakers for the following year. Also responsible for planning and logistics of the February Annual Luncheon including selection of a noted speaker.
Reception Committee

Committee is responsible for staging and overseeing the reception area for the monthly General Meeting, signing in members and assisting non-members with proper information they need. Further, the Committee has a friendly conversation with all people ensuring they feel welcomed. We also report the number of people in attendance at the General Meetings.

Committee is responsible for the development, update and daily operation of the website, all supporting capabilities such as Constant Contact and WordPress, backups, training and support, Zoom and any special requests from the Board. Maintains close partnership with all committee chairs. Ensures licenses are active and up to date. Ensure any scheduled paid for services and fees are communicated to the treasurer.
