Ancestry Plus is available to the public at the PBCLS Main Library and 15 branch locations.

Full-text access to U.S. Census Records, the Florida Death Index and an array of other useful genealogical resources can now be accessed at your nearest library location. Phone your local branch for an appointment to reserve a computer.

Heritage Quest Online is available from your home computer by registering with a PBC Library Card at: PBC Library Card

Interlibrary loan is available through any Palm Beach County Library Branch.  Using Interlibrary Loan, you can borrow almost any book in the world that is listed in the WorldCat catalog and is in a participating library in the United States.

To use: Must be used in the library

  • Point your browser to worldcat.org
  • In the box marked “Find items in libraries near you”, enter the title of the item you are looking for in the search bar, and hit “search everything”.
  • When you find the item you are searching for, click on it.
  • You will get a box marked “Find a copy in the library near you”. If there is a copy in the United States, take a copy of this to your library branch and request that the librarian obtain it through Interlibrary Loan.
  • When the item comes in, you can pick it up and borrow it for the usual time period, unless it is a reference book that must be used in the library.

FAU-JSA
The Judaica Sound Archives at Florida Atlantic University Libraries is dedicated to bringing the recorded music from the Golden Age of Jewish Music to a new home where its past will be respected and its future assured. In addition to its primary focus of rescuing and preserving 78 rpm records from the first half of the 20th century, the project has expanded its scope to include LPs, tapes, 45s and sheet music.

The Family History Library Records Collection, available to you through the Boca Raton Family History Center and the Jupiter Family History Center, includes in excess of 2.2 million rolls of microfilmed genealogical records, and more than 742,000 microfiche and 300,000 books, 4,500 serials, periodicals and other formats. A majority of the records contain information about persons who lived before 1920.

Records have been filmed in over 110 countries, territories and possessions. Film can be rented from the Salt Lake City Main Library.

The New York Index remains the back-bone of our local FHC which contains 7 computers, all online with high-speed Internet access. Please contact a volunteer for sign-up and help.
